SHV Energy and DCC Energy sign Memorandum of Understanding
SHV Energy and DCC Energy, two global leaders in the liquid gas industry, have announced a collaboration to promote the development of renewable liquid gas. They have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore sustainable opportunities for generating renewable liquid gas (rLG) and renewable and recycled carbon dimethyl ether (rDME). This collaboration aims to address supply challenges in Europe and pave the way for large-scale production and widespread commercial adoption of rLG and rDME.
Patrick van der Voort, CEO of SHV Energy, emphasized the importance of sustainable fuels like rDME in reducing carbon emissions and contributing to the global energy transition. The collaboration will focus on assessing potential projects and investments to develop sustainable rLG and rDME supply solutions. Additionally, both companies plan to involve other industry stakeholders to drive innovation in rLG and rDME production, benefiting the entire sector and liquid gas customers.
Fabian Ziegler, CEO of DCC Energy, highlighted that this partnership aligns with their strategy to find lower carbon solutions for their millions of liquid gas customers, bringing them closer to providing cleaner energy to everyone.
