Kiwa KOAC introduces largest and most advanced measuring truck in the world
Kiwa KOAC, a Kiwa division working on road inspection and certification, has developed the largest and most advanced measuring truck in the world.
The skid resistance vehicle measures not only skid resistance, but also vehicle texture and longitudinal unevenness. Furthermore, the device is now expanded with a new 3D-laserscan device. Now also transversal unevenness, rutting and automated crack detection can be measured.
By combining all these systems in one truck we can now collect all functional properties of a road network in only one go (before this took 3 – 4 runs with different vehicles). This means not only higher efficiency, but also less CO2 emissions and less traffic disturbance.
