In May 2018, Makro opened three new stores in Colombia and one in Argentina, all with LEED certification for green buildings.
LEED certification is a globally recognised symbol of sustainability achievement. The Makro stores qualify because of their LED lightning, rain harvesting water systems and refrigerator doors that cut energy use.
