Trouw Nutrition’s Companion Animal business is focused on advancing nourishment of the world’s pets by providing premium pet food companies with the highest-quality custom ingredient blends supported by exceptional customer care and nutrition expertise. We are seeking a Raw Material & Logistics Manager to lead Forecasting, Contracting, and Planning of raw material deliveries to our three facilities within the Trouw Nutrition USA-Companion Animal business unit.  Your team of 3 works closely with both local and global buyers across Nutreco to ensure the timely and efficient procurement of materials.

About The Role: Driving Supply Chain Operational Excellence:

Responsibilities

  • Manage and build team capabilities of Material Planners and inbound/outbound Transportation Buyer
  • Regularly communicate with vendors, ensuring seamless coordination on purchase contract call-offs  
  • Conduct regular forecasting reviews with vendors, aligning expectations and anticipate supply needs
  • Address and resolve any issues related to delivery delays or disruptions to ensure business continuity 
  • Proactively managing discrepancies in pricing/volumes to ensure smooth and efficient operations-ensure variances are minimized
  • Establish and maintain supportive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders 
  • Evaluate and analyze key vendor performance indicators, particularly focusing on supplier performance metrics such as On Time In Full (OTIF) delivery 
  • Foster open dialogue with vendors (address challenges, ensure expectations and collaborative performance enhancement and operational efficiency)
  • Negotiate Incoterms with vendors to identify the most cost-effective and efficient delivery methods for raw materials
  • Serve as the key liaison with Nutreco's global Contracting team and management of the Forecast-to-Contract process

Skills and Expertise:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, related field or equivalent 
  • 2- 4 years of raw material experience in sourcing, supply chain management, or logistics preferably in the companion animal, livestock, aqua culture industries
  • 2- 4 years of leading a collaborative, cross-functional team-partnering with Costing, Operations and Commercial teams
  • Extensive knowledge of logistics INCO terms and imports /exports of goods into the USA
  • Highly knowledgeable of ingredient sourcing, procurement processes and supply chain best practices
  • Savvy negotiator, Clear and transparent communicator with High-Level interpersonal skills
  • An Analytical mindset with a proficiency in Data Analysis Tools
  • Experience with ERP or SAP software (M3-Nice to Have)
  • Intermediate user: MS suite2023- Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint
  • PMP experience (Nice to Have)
